Magpies dominate the rinks
CAMPERDOWN Golf Magpies Bowling Club’s division two team showed they are true finals contenders with an all-rinks win over Colac 2 last weekend.
The side celebrated a 41-shot win over Colac 2 on Saturday.
However, Golf’s division one Saturday team fell just short against the Simpson Tigers, going down by nine shots, 85-94.
Division one went into the afternoon tea break with a 15-shot lead and an upset was on the cards.
However, Simpson held their nerve over the last few ends to record the win.
Paul Richards’ rink of Chris Pearson, John Molan and James Henry continued their winning form with a 13 shot win over Robbie Methven’s rink 30-17.
Glenn Winsall’s rink of Algie White, Peter Reilly and Mark Winsall just failed against Kurt Wilson’s rink, 21-24.
