Magpies fire up for cross town match

CAMPERDOWN Golf Magpies Bowling Club division one Saturday team are keen to make amends for their two shot loss to league leaders Colac City last Saturday when they take on cross town rivals Camperdown tomorrow at home.

By wd-news

It was a case of the one that got away last Saturday as Golf led for 96 of the100 ends played but could not quite take the win with Colac City hanging on to win 93 shots to 91.

Even after the loss, Golf can take optimism from the match as the club has a number of young players playing their first season in division one and these players are gaining great experience at the top level, so the club has a great future ahead.

Paul Richards rink of Chris Pearson, John Molan and James Henry continued their winning form with two shot win over Gay Morrisey’s rink 26 shots to 24.

Glenn Winsall’s rink of Peter Reilly, Mark Winsall and Greg Teal went down to Stewart Trigg’s rink by eight shots 17 to 25.

David Bateman’s rink of Gary Body, Isaac Winsall and Jack Paasse continued their good form with a five shot win over Stephen O’Dowd’s rink 22 to 17.

Trey Darcy’s rink of Mick Mahony, Pat Scott and Trish Taylor tried hard all day but could not overcome Ron Absalom’s rink losing 10 shots tom 33.
