Magpies ready for cross town match
CAMPERDOWN Golf Magpies Bowling Club will head to Thornton Street tomorrow in a match both sides will be desperate to win.
Golf Magpies have won the last two times the teams have met and will be looking to make it a hat-trick tomorrow.
Last Saturday Golf travelled to Colac City and after an absorbing contest came home with a two-rinks all loss by nine shots, 89-98.
Kev Conheady’s team of Greg Edwards, Greg Molan and Billy Conheady went down to Stewart Trigg’s rink by eight shots, 22-30.
Craig Skene’s rink of Tom Spokes, Peter Reilly and Greg Teal had a four shot win over Gary Morrissy’s rink, 24-20.
Glenn Winsall’s rink of David Bateman, Andrew Anderson and Mark Winsall had a 10 shot loss to Rebecca McMahon’s rink, 17-27.

Division two was at home last Saturday to Apollo Bay and went down by 33 shots, 74-107.
Leanne Fitzgerald’s rink of Michael Brebner, Noel Brebner and Ray Bateman went down to Sandra Kent’s rink 18-28.
Chris McLeod’s rink of Terry Place, Daryl O’Donohue and George Bateman lost to Larry Redman’s rink 20-24.
Dan Stewart’s rink of Ro Dunstan, Keira Johnson and Elaine Waterfall had a great win over Robert Lennie’s rink 25-22.
Algie White’s rink of John O’Donohue, Peter James and Irene Wyles went down to David Hand’s rink 11-33.
Tomorrow Golf will be at home to Cressy and with a lot more players making themselves available this week, a better showing is expected.

Congratulations to Leanne Fitzgerald who will play her 50th Saturday game for the club tomorrow.
Division three was also at home last Saturday and due to player unavailability the side struggled against Camperdown, going down by 58 shots, 54-112.
The club thanks Derrinallum Bowling Club for assisting with players which enabled the club to field a full complement of rinks.
John Salau’s rink of Kell Edwards, Wes Hargreaves and Andrew Whiteside were the shining light for the day, defeating Stan Adeney’s rink 22-18.
Janet Molan’s rink of Xavier Crabbe, Gary Body and Kathy Banks went down to Paul Brebner’s rink 10-27.
Liz Riches’ rink of Ruth Skene, Sharon McLeod and Trish Taylor lost to David Coverdale’s rink 11-28.
Garry Brian’s rink of Louise Molesworth, Pat Scott and Val Coverdale went down to Ron Simcox’s rink 11-39.
Tomorrow division three will travel to Colac to take on City 3 and a better showing is expected with the return of many layers.

The bus will leave Bath Street at 11.20am, driven by Steve Lucas.
In mid-week pennant last Tuesday, division one travelled to Simpson and came home with a 27 shot loss.
The rink of Leanne Fitzgerald, Craig Skene, Janet Molan and Greg Teal was the only successful one.
Next Tuesday Golf will be at home to Cobden and a win would see them retain a slim chance of making the four and playing finals.

In division three last Tuesday, Golf hosted league ladders Camperdown.
They put up a strong showing but went down by 36 shots, with the rink of Gary Body, Noel Brebner, Ruth Skene and Terri Sinnott the highlight of the day with a 24-19 win over Ron Simcox’s rink.

The club congratulates David Bateman on his win last Saturday in the Champion of Champions at Colac.
David defeated Brad Weetman from Lorne 25-11.
He bowled magnificent all match and this Sunday will see him face Ian Varcoe from Apollo Bay in the semi-final.
The winner will then play either John Nelson from Cressy or Luke Wright from Camperdown.
Duty teams this week are Leanne Fitzgerald and Ro Dunstan.
