Magpies rewarded
CAMPERDOWN’S senior footballers have celebrated their first win of the 2023 season with a 19-point victory over North Warrnambool.

CAMPERDOWN’S senior footballers have celebrated their first win of the 2023 season with a 19-point victory over North Warrnambool.
Playing on the Eagles’ home ground last Saturday, the Magpies were eager to get some points on the Hampden League ladder following an opening round loss to Terang Mortlake and a round two defeat at the hands of South Warrnambool.
Senior coach Neville Swayn said while it was good to get the first win under their belts early in the season, he was confident the side was on the right track.
“It was good to get the win and it was a good reward for all the hard work the boys have been doing,” he said.
“We keep building each week and I’m confident more success will come on the scoreboard. The most pleasing thing was that everyone played their role and we’re where we want to be at the moment.”
Swayn made particular mention of the efforts of on-ballers Hamish Sinnott and Cameron Spence, while Wil Raybottom also earned praise for his strength in the ruck while Archie McBean was “consistent down back”.
