Magpies shine at netball titles

CAMPERDOWN’S Jake Noonan and Aidan Conheady are currently representing Victoria at the AMMNA National Netball Championships in Perth.
Noonan, a talented mid-courter, is a member of the state’s open men’s team while Conheady earned himself a late call-up to join the men’s 17 and under squad.
Conheady was initially named as a training partner for the squad last November after trialling for the team the month prior, but late injuries within the squad resulted in an opportunity for him to head west.
Early results for the men’s team included a 43-32 loss to New South Wales last Sunday, followed by wins over South Australia 57-39, Western Australia 46-41 and Queensland 51-41.
Early results for the 17 and unders included victory over Tasmania 90-15, South Australia 74-34, Western Australia 68-52, New South Wales 69-24, Queensland 2 regional 62-30 and Queensland 1 metro, 78-24.
The week-long championships will conclude with finals this Saturday.
