Man dies in motorbike crash

A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a horror collision on the outskirts of Terang last Thursday night.

A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a horror collision on the outskirts of Terang last Thursday night.

Terang police Senior Constable Melissa Gray said the collision between a 44-year old male riding a Kawasaki motorcycle and a Ford Territory occurred at around 6.55pm.

The motorcycle rider was ejected from the Kawasaki and died at the scene.

“A male motorbike rider heading west on the Princes Highway has collided in to the rear of a Ford Territory which was turning right in to Littles Lane,” she said.

“The rider has unfortunately died at the scene from his injuries.

“Ambulance, State Emergency Service, Victoria Police and Country Fire Authority all attended the scene.

“We are investigating whether speed, drugs, alcohol or distraction were factors involved.”

Snr Const Gray said the driver of the Ford Territory was unharmed and was assisting police with their inquiries.

At the time of publication, a total of 166 lives had been lost on Victoria roads this year, and increase on 144 at the same time last year.
