The Camperdown Uniting Church will host a meet and greet session with the Paris Olympian next Thursday (November 21) from 3.15pm.

Organiser Ros Hayman said the session would allow residents to learn more about Ms Brown’s career as a professional cyclist as well as her win at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“Drs Tony Brown, Ruth Stewart and family were active members of the Uniting Church over many years,” she said.

“The church decided it would be nice to invite Grace back to hear firsthand about her career.

“Many church members watched her grow up and were very excited to watch her recent achievements live on TV from Paris.”

Doors will open from 3pm, with residents invited to have tea or coffee and learn more about Ms Brown’s career.

“It’s an opportunity for people to ask questions of Grace about her experiences both at the Olympics and also what’s happening in her life,” Mrs Hayman said.

“It’s an opportunity for people to see her – the church community knew her very well, and they were interested in what she was doing.

“It’s a case of catching up with her and seeing what she’s been doing since she left Camperdown and what she’s planning for the future.

“When she won the gold medal, people at the church were really interested in what Grace was doing, so we though it was an opportunity for her to come to the church and for everyone to come celebrate her achievements with her.”
