CAMPERDOWN and district locals were encouraged to wear a hat for a good cause on Monday.

CAMPERDOWN and district locals were encouraged to wear a hat for a good cause on Monday.
Rotary Club of Camperdown secretary Graeme Fischer said the club took part in Australian Rotary’s Hat Day in a bid to lift the lid on mental health.
The event was held in the town square between 11am and 1pm and included a barbecue lunch.
Mr Fischer said all attendees were invited to wear a hat.
“It was a very successful Hat Day barbecue,” he said.
“The funds raised for Australian Rotary Health mental health research would be significant.
“Thanks to Mike Jones, Erin Vanders and James Carter for cooking the barbecue.
“Staff from Corangamite Shire also helped to organise the bread and serviettes.
“Special thanks to Woolworths Camperdown for donating the produce.”
Mr Fischer said the staff of Camperdown Mental Health Services and Corangamite Shire Community Health gave invaluable advice to a number of members of the public on the day.
“Finally thanks to the community members who assisted in donating towards this wonderful cause,” he said.
