A series of pop-up community information sessions will be held at 147 Manifold Street, 11am and 2pm weekdays between Wednesday, September 14 and Tuesday, September 20 September.
Project staff will be on hand to discuss the design, and are keen to hear from the community about their thoughts on shared community spaces.
In conjunction with the Victorian Health Building Authority, South West Healthcare has been working with architects ClarkeHopkinsClarke to design a new 36-bed, two-story aged care facility.
The transformational $39.594 million redevelopment on Robinson Street will feature outdoor spaces that promote physical and mental wellbeing and encourage greatersocial interaction.
The facility’s interior has been designed to provide residents with a modern, safe and comfortable place to call home and a safe and efficient workplace for staff.
The design features resident rooms which have been grouped into small households with dedicated kitchens and living areas to create a more home-like environment.
It incorporates dementia-friendly principles, and there will be multiple resident and family living areas and dining areas, including discreet, quiet indoor and outdoor spaces and dedicated activity areas.
Resident amenities include a café, hairdresser, gym, community areas and reflection space.
Early works are expected to begin in late 2022, with the new facility completed by 2025.
