MILD weather and low rainfall have seen Terang and Mortlake left far more dry than usual throughout July.

MILD weather and low rainfall have seen Terang and Mortlake left far more dry than usual throughout July.
Terang experienced 54.2mm of rain throughout the month, well below the long-term monthly average of 83.1mm.
The highest daily rainfall occurred on July 8, with 12mm hitting the ground.
The monthly total marks a decrease from the previous year, when 72.4mm of rain fell during the same month in 2022.
Throughout the year Terang has experienced 437.8mm of total rainfall, which remains slightly above the long-term average of 424.4mm.
Meanwhile in Mortlake, 36.2mm of rain fell during July.
The figure was below the long-term monthly average of 61.4mm, with the highest daily rainfall occurring on July 28 when 8.4mm of rain hitting the ground.
The figure marks a decrease from the previous year when 55mm fell during the month.
Through July Mortlake has experienced a total of 374.2mm of rain, above the long-term average of 318.6mm over the same period.
