Missed opportunies costly for Demons
MISSED opportunities in their forward line on the weekend proved costly for Timboon’s senior footballers.

MISSED opportunities in their forward line on the weekend proved costly for Timboon’s senior footballers.
Playing at home against Dennington, the Demons’ failure to capitalise on Saturday has kept them winless on the bottom of the ladder after 13 rounds.
“We had our chances but just couldn’t capitalise on them which was disappointing,” coach Marcus Hickey said.
“We were only down by about two goals going into the main break but in the third Dennington got away from us abit."
“They went on to kick five goals to two in the third and we couldn’t catch up. We have a relatively inexperienced side so we need to learn to capitalise on all opportunities.”
Hickey said while the group was disappointed not to take its first win, he hoped it would take some positives from the game.
“Hopefully we will go into this weekend’s round against Old Collegians with a better mindset and a greater self-belief,” Hickey said.
“They have the ability to win this one. Old Collegians are sitting ninth with just one win on the board so this is our opportunity on Saturday to snatch one.”
Final scores last weekend were Timboon 7.7.49 to Dennington 13.4.82.
Best for the Demons were Jordan Fowler, Mitchell Wallace, Charlie Trotter, Kyle Delaney, Henry Stansfield and Ash Hunt.
Goals went to Ash Hunt, Mitchell Wallace, Isaac Bedggood, Adam Doak, Jordan Fowler, Thomas Hunt and Sam Negrello.
In the reserves, the Demons enjoyed a 52-point win over Dennington, 9.13.67 to 2.3.15.
Best for the Demons were Lachlan Rosolin, Benjamin Mitchell, Sam Hickey, Lyndon Alsop, Luke Smith and Jeremy Doolan.
Goal scorers: Benjamin Mitchell (4), Sam Hickey (3), Cory Collins and Lachlan Rosolin.
The Demons will this weekend host Old Collegians.
