THE final month of autumn delivered on a boost to dams and tanks across Cobden and surrounds.
Throughout autumn this year, Cobden received 222.9 mm of rainfall.
Throughout March, 50.2mm of rain fell over Cobden and surrounds, slightly below the long-term average.
The long-term average for Cobden is 48.6mm.
The wettest day of the month was on March 8, which saw a total of 10mm fall in the 24 hour period.
April’s rainfall in contrast was well above the long-term average.
Throughout April, 90.4mm of rain fell over Cobden and surrounds which was below the long-term average of 66.4mm.
About a quarter of the month’s rainfall fell on April 16 with 24.6mm recorded for the 24 hour period.
May rainfall was again slightly above the long-term average with a total of 90mm rain falling for the month.
The long-term average for May is 82.3mm.
The highest rainfall for the month was 24.6mm which was recorded on May 3.
So far to date this year, 341mm of rain has fallen over Cobden, well above the 252.2mm for the same time last year.
