Mixed bag for Storm
STORM cricketers had mixed success in the first two rounds of Twenty20 competition last weekend.
Round one saw them take on Camperdown at Wright Oval an Saturday morning.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Camperdown managed 10/126 off 19.3 overs, with Storm's Sam Lenehan proving most effective with the ball, taking 4/17 off four overs.
In reply, Storm showed determination at the crease to take the win with a creditable 5/127 off 16.5 overs.
Opener Travis Brown had a great day with the bat, making a quick-fired 62 from 37 deliveries which included four sixes and four boundaries.
He was well supported by team-mate Thomas Hunt with 30 off 33 balls.
Round two of competition wasn't quite so successful for the Storm, going down to Pomborneit at MCP Oval.
The Bulls won the toss and elected to bat, notching up 4/140 off their 50 overs while the Storm were contained to 8/97.
Paul Vigels, uneaten on 27, and opener Travis Brown on 15, were the only two to reach double figures.
