Mixed results for Mortlake bowlers

MORTLAKE bowlers enjoyed the eighth round of midweek pennant last week.

The division three match was played against City, with some good performances on the green.

Mortlake 1 Purple (div. 3) def. City 7 Emeralds 38-30 (away).

Glenice Kenna lost to Garry Husband 13-19 and Dianne Robertson def. Murray Smith 25-11.

The team selection for round eight against Timboon 3 Red at home wasn’t available at the time of deadline.

Tuesday’s social pennant was also played last week.

Round seven results:

Mortlake Blue lost to Camperdown 32-36 (away) and Mortlake White defeated Cobden Black 43-28 (home).

Mortlake Blue is now top of the table with 54 points and Mortlake White is now two points behind them and third place Camperdown is on 46 points.

This week for round eight, Mortlake Blue will play Cobden Red (home) and Mortlake White has the bye.

Results from round seven of weekend pennant:

The only matches played last Saturday were the ones at City Memorial, however with the majority of the matches being abandoned due to rain, all divisions saw an abandoned round with shared points.

Mortlake Blue (div. 1) is currently sixth on the ladder, behind fifth placed Warrnambool 1 Gold and five points behind fourth placed Port Fairy 1 Red.

Mortlake White (div. 2) is still in fourth on the ladder, two points ahead of fifth placed Warrnambool 4 Green and two points behind third placed Koroit 2 Saints.

Mortlake Gold (div. 4) is still in sixth place.
