Mixed results for Mortlake bowlers
MORTLAKE bowlers had mixed results from last Saturday’s round six of weekend pennant competition.
Mortlake 1 Blue (div. 1) lost to Port Fairy 1 Red 54-72 (away).
D Grant def. D Riches 27-19, G Draffen lost to N Lowe 15-29 and L Johnson lost to S Cullinane 12-24.
Mortlake 2 White (div. 2) lost to City 4 Blue (away).
C Baxter lost to P Butters 15-30, R Draffen lost to K Maddern 13-32 and P Delaney lost to B Scott 16-31
Mortlake 4 Gold (div. 4) defeated Dunkeld 2 White 46-32 (home).
F Robertson lost to G Wall 17-28 and D Murray def. R Napier 29-14.
Weekend pennant selections for round seven this Saturday:
Mortlake 1 Blue (div. 1) at home to Warrnambool 2 Blue.

Last Tuesday saw round seven of midweek pennant.
Results were as follows:
Mortlake 1 Blue (div. 1) defeated Warrnambool 1 Gold 67-50 (home).
C Goldsworthy def. R Hill 25-15, G Draffen def. I Cross 23-13 and L Johnson lost to S Dalton 19-22.
At the half way point, Mortlake Blue is currently fourth on the ladder, four points behind Warrnambool Gold and nine points behind Timboon Demons.
Mortlake 2 Purple (div. 4) lost to City 9 Topaz 38-40 (home).
L O’Shannessy def. K Symons 27-15 and G MacDonald lost to G Batten 11-25.
At the half way point, Mortlake Purple is currently fourth on the ladder, two points ahead of Port Fairy Blue and 10 points behind third place City Onyx.
Midweek pennant selections for round eight:
Mortlake 1 Blue (div. 1) away to City 1 Diamonds.
The side has not been chosen at the time of printing.
Mortlake 2 Purple (div. 4) away to Timboon 4 Demons.

Last Tuesday also saw Over 60s social pennant round six played:
Mortlake White defeated Cobden Black 47-19 (home).
F Robertson def. G Matthieson 28-8 and D Murray def. D Staggard 19-11.
There was no result for Mortlake Blue at the time of printing.
It’s that time of year again where the club runs its Christmas hamper raffle - $2 a ticket of 3 for $5 and you could be the lucky winner of a Christmas hamper.
Everyone is welcome at the clubrooms either Tuesday or Saturday to get your tickets or find a member to get those winning tickets.
Feel free to also drop off some hamper items if tickets aren’t your thing – every bit helps.
The raffle will be drawn on Saturday, December 20 and winners will be notified.
Twilight bowls is already underway and if you are interested in playing (either as a player or a team of three), please contact the twilight bowls coordinator Scott or come along Wednesday nights until mid-December.
