Mixed Results For Storm
HEYTESBURY-PRINCETOWN Storm had the bye in round four of the Colac-South West premier cricket competition, with the Storm this week set for a trip to Apollo Bay to play the Sharks.
In division two, Storm Blue had a win while Storm Purple had a loss.
Batting first at the Timboon Recreation Reserve against Bookaar, Blue was dismissed for 133 in the 40th over.
Drew Kordupel top scored with 34 from 51 runs, while Nico Nieuwenhuizen made 29 from 40 balls.
In reply, Bookaar was all out for 104 in the 33rd over.
Leg-spinners Nathan Gillingham and Tommy Illingworth took five wickets between them in the 29 run win.
Storm Purple had a one wicket loss at Boorcan.
Batting first, Purple made 5/168 from its 40 overs.
Matt Whitehead continued his good form with 47 not out from 61 balls, with Ash Hunt making 42 from 88.
A thrilling finish saw Boorcan pass the score with two balls remaining and one wicket in hand.
Norm Vogels was the best of the Purple bowlers with 3/17 from 6.4 overs.
In division three, Heytesbury-Princetown had a three wicket win over Camperdown at Princetown.
Leigh Doak and John Smith took three wickets each for the Storm in the Lakers total of 109.
An unbeaten 36 from Andrew Malone led the Storm to victory in the 38th over.
The Storm’s under 16 and under 13 teams both had their matches washed out.
In division two this week Storm Blue and Storm Purple play each other at Timboon.
in division three Heytesbury-Princetown host Woorndoo at Princetown, the under 16s play Cobden at Cobden and on Monday night the under 13 Storm play Pomborneit at Pomborneit.
