More fish for Bullen Merri
LAKE Bullen Merri received a top-up of fish last week.

LAKE Bullen Merri received a top-up of fish last week.
The Victorian Fisheries Authority Snobs Creek hatchery crew, were joined by Minister for Fishing and Boating Sonya Kilkenny, Better Boating Victoria and local anglers last week for the stocking.
In the recent top-up, 4000 brown trout were added to the popular water way, with more than 120,000 trout stocked at the lake in the past two years.
Bullen Merri is also one of just two waters – alongside its crater lake cousin Lake Purrumbete – where fisheries stock Chinook salmon, and it is also planned to get a whopping 50,000 this season.
And with rainbows, tiger trout and Aussie bass to add into the stocking mix, it offers great fishing options year-round.
The stocking effort is backed by fishing licence fees and the State Government’s $35m Go Fishing Victoria plan to get more people fishing, more often.
