More than $600,000 distributed throughout the Corangamite region

SUPPORTING local continues to pay off for the local community, with the Cobden and Camperdown Community Bank putting more than $60,000 into the area in the past financial year.
The year’s donations continues its commitment of giving back 50 per cent of proceeds to communities in the Corangamite Shire.
Since being established, more than $600,000 has been distributed throughout the shire.
Cobden and Camperdown Community Bank board chairman Brooke Love thanked local businesses and the community for their continued support by banking locally.
She said without this support, the bank would not be able to provide the level of financial help going back into the local community.
“One of the biggest slogans now is “Shop Local” to help support the local community. We are calling on you to “Bank Local” and you will also be supporting your local community,” Mrs Love said.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the bank has continued to maintain its high levels of support and sponsorship throughout the community.
Financial sponsorships earmarked during this time have still been provided, even with the postponement and cancellation of many events.
Community groups looking for sponsorship for upcoming events, were encouraged to visit one of the branches and speak to the staff about possible funding.
Mrs Love thanked the wider community for its ongoing support.
“A huge thank you goes to our loyal customers for their understanding and patience during this difficult time,” she said.
“Despite the restrictions limiting the number of customers able to enter our branches at one time, we have been able to keep the doors open and maintain banking hours.
“We are still providing our great customer service and all banking options for current and new customers.”
