Mortlake Lions welcome new leadership
THE Mortlake Lions welcomed new members and a new president at last week’s changeover dinner last Thursday.

THE Mortlake Lions welcomed new members and a new president at last week’s changeover dinner last Thursday.
Outgoing president Alex Hinkley said the Mortlake Lions had capped off another big year including continuing Meals on Wheels, hosting an Easter Raffle, assisting with parking at the Noorat Show and selling Lions Christmas cakes.
“We conducted Christmas Carols again in lovely summer evening conditions,” he said.
“All members aid in the collecting of old batteries as a fundraiser.
“Usual sundry requests for help in our community are met, from helping at the cemetery.
“As a small club everyone is involved; thank you to all members and especially partner who continually work and support our activities.”
Office bearers for 2023-2024 are:
• President: Alan Wentworth;
• First vice president: Heather Rowe;
• Second vice president: Alex Hinkley;
• Secretary: Peter Palmer;
• Treasurer: Alex Hinkley;
• Tail twister: Peter Palmer;
• Lion Tamer: David Caudle; and
• Membership: John Kettner.
New member Annabelle Palmer was welcomed, so too were prospective members Kevin and Deb Etherton.
