Mortlake wins Edwin Currie Cup
MORTLAKE golfers Paul Wareham, Kurt Robertson and Wes Wareham have taken out the Edwin Currie Cup.

Last Sunday saw the 83rd staging of this prestigious event, which was first held in 1934 and was won by the Barwon Heads Golf Club.
The event is one of the oldest events in Regional Victoria still being contested.
The event, an aggregate stableford team of three, was won by the trio from Mortlake with a combined score of 105 points.
Last Saturday’s aggregate stableford was won by Ed Robinson (2) 32 points and Kevin Etherton (12) 37 points from runners-up Jordan Wareham (22) 39 points and Shane Slater (11) 28 points.
Nearest the pins: 3/12 Paul Wareham, 6/15 Ben Boers and 9/18 Dougal Ranken.
Balls down the line: Shane Slater, Jordan Wareham, Ben Boers, Wes Wareham, Kurt Robertson and Paul Wareham.
Winner of the Bates IGA matchplay championship was Ben Boers who defeated Kurt Robertson 2-1.
Next week’s event is the stroke monthly medal.
