Moulden named Cricketer of the Year

POMBORNEIT Gold’s Jessica Moulden has been named Colac District Cricket Association’s ‘Cricketer of the Year’ for the women’s competition.

The star all-rounder was presented with her award during the association’s presentation night at the Colac RSL last Monday evening.

Moulden finished the count on 21 votes, three ahead of Simpson’s Bianca Robinson on 18 – with Moulden’s captain and two-time previous award winner, Samantha Coxon, in third.

Moulden had her best season yet, making a competition-high 253 runs while also taking 13 wickets.

Moulden, Coxon and Pomborneit Maroon teenager Isabella Wain were all named in the CDCA women’s Team of the Year.

Pomborneit juniors Zoe Unwin and Scarlett Whitehead tied for the most wickets in the under 13 competition with 10 each.

Jada Moloney was named the under 18 Country Week ‘Player of the Week’ while Lucia Clarke was the under 16 ‘Player of the Week.’
