Movement on soccer ladder
THE Corangamite Lions had a 2-0 loss to third-placed Forest Rangers in the division one Ballarat and District Soccer Association match at Scotts Creek on Sunday.
Rangers got on the board early, scoring goals in the sixth and 16th minute.
The Lions now drop to sixth on the ladder, level on points but behind on goal difference with fifth-placed Victoria Park.
This week Corangamite take on Ballarat North United at Russell Square in Ballarat.
The Lions’ division one women had a 2-0 loss, Rangers scoring in the fifth and 36th minutes.
The Lions women sit in eighth position on the ladder after 10 rounds.
A goal in the 21st minute to Chol Ajak led Corangamite’s division two men to a 1-0 win, the team’s third victory of the season.
A ninth goal of the season to Hamish Messer led the under 12 Lions to a 1-0 win over Bacchus Marsh Gold, also at Scotts Creek.
The second win of the season for the under 12s sees the Lions up to seventh spot on the ladder.
