THERE was toe-tapping fun to be had at Music by the Lake on Friday.

Staged at Lake Purrumbete on Good Friday, the annual concert saw musical acts perform on the back of a semi-trailer to an appreciative crowd of music lovers and dancers alike.

Event organiser and performer Ian ‘Bidge’ Boyd said the day went well.

“The weather was ideal,” he said.

“All of the artists performed well and people appreciated the dance floor was back.”

Kicking off at 12noon on Good Friday, the concert featured a range of musicians including:

  • Joe Rundel;

  • Natlie Atkinson;

  • Robyn Gleeson and Leon Rowbottom;

  • Allan Webster;

  • John Watson; and

  • Bidge Boyd.

Mr Boyd said the final fundraising tally was $6150, which was added to Camperdown’s Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

“We didn’t quite break the record of $6277,” he said.

The day’s total included:

  • Auction of trailer load of wood, $450;

  • The Morning Melodies group donated $766;

  • Whytcross family and friends donated $558 from the sale of cakes and slices;

  • Lake Purrumbete gold coin donation collection, $555; and

  • Individual donation on the day, $500.

Mr Boyd said the day would not be possible without a number of supporters.

“Thank you to everyone for their support and donations, it is appreciated,” he said.
