Nothing could dampen the spirits of the Red Hill Public Hall Committee, even as black as the sky was prior to the event starting time.

Red Hill Public Hall Committee member Jenny Baker said a great day was had by all.

“It was all systems go with music by local artists Tamara and Sharpy from Rockit and local cover band Level Up, who entertained us for five hours,” she said.

“New gazebos purchased by the committee and the hall veranda sheltered our event goers from light showers during the day.

“The dance floor provided by local dancers was set up and our youngest revellers defying the ‘no drinks on dance floor’ code had a great time.

“We hope they keep on dancing.”

The event drew a strong crowd as both a community event and fundraiser for the Red Hill Public Hall Committee, with an estimated 100 in attendance.

“Cobden Rotary did a wonderful job once again with the barbecue and Coffee with the Girls had a steady stream lining up for a warm beverage due to cooler conditions,” Mrs Baker said.

“Our second attempt of a music function and family day out was well supported with 100 plus in attendance.

“We thank all our generous sponsors for their support and individual donations from locals who couldn’t make the day.”
