The Restricted Open saw Winnap’s Marran Thompson and Spider (Will Thompson) and Paige Nancarrow with One Stylish Oak, all tied up on 88 (21/62/4 apiece) after the first round.

Kevin Geppert aboard Doubleup Secret Heart (Mardi Johnson) sat just two points behind (21/61/4) and Nancarrow’s Lenas Little Tassa another two in arrears.

David Murphy and Mobile Pricetag took a 79 into the final, in 7th place.

Nancarrow and One Stylish Oak set the bar high in the final with a full course and 91 (23/64/4), Geppert an 87.

Seconds is all it takes for a change in the ranks and while Thompson and Spider collected a 21 in the camp, the whip fell on them in the arena, the top six falling just out of reach.

Nancarrow’s Lena found her pace in the final, taking 22 out of the camp and 63 on a full course, to jump into second place alongside Geppert, while Murphy and Pricetag’s 82 was enough to take out fourth.

In Friday’s Open, One Stylish Oak again got the better of the beasts, two full courses settling her into sixth in the final.

Ian James on the family-bred Thistlehill Flight made two tidy runs to take third, but it was Liz Drican and QXH Dun in Colour one point clear at the top of the table, taking the win.

Wannon River Campdraft’s Andy Mercer had a big weekend, making a top score of 88 (21/63/4) on Dizzy in the Novice A and the highest weekend average of 65.14 over seven first-round runs.
