Work is now complete on the resurfacing of two courts at Mortlake.

The two new acrylic court surfaces will be ready for play in time for the start of this year’s local league seasons.

One court now has dedicated netball line markings while the second court has both netball and tennis markings.

The upgrade from asphalt to a modern acrylic coating will make the courts safer, will dry quicker after rain and will lower court temperatures by five to seven degrees.

The work also brings the courts in to line with Netball Victoria standards; providing modern facilities for local teams who utilise the courts during the season.

It is hoped the new surfaces will also help attract local league finals to the reserve.

The works took three weeks to complete at a cost of $70,000 and was funded through Moyne Shire Council’s allocation of the federal government’s Local Road and Community Infrastructure Program funding.
