New pop-up sessions following previous success

CORANGAMITE Shire Council mayor Kate Makin and chief executive officer David Rae are looking to capture the kitchen table conversation vibe in their latest rounds of ‘pop-up’ sessions.

By wd-news

After Cr Makin and Mr Rae had a number of successful and informative pop-up sessions in April, councillors and staff are hitting the road for another series of “kitchen table” conversations in late June and July.

Sessions will be held in each of the shire’s 12 towns with a range of times to suit working and childcare hours.

Cr Makin invited residents to come and discuss their priorities and planning for our shire.

“Your elected councillors and the council organisation work for you,” she said.

“These casual conversations are a way to find out what matters to our residents, what they need, and what they think we do well or could improve on.

“Come along and tell us your thoughts about what’s happening in your local community.

“We want big picture ideas to help develop the next council plan and refresh the themes that residents raised in the 2040 Community Vision.”

Cr Makin invited community members to come along and have a chat at any of the following sessions:

  • Johnstone Court, Terang – Wednesday, June 26 June from 11.30am-1.30 pm;

  • Alderwood Manor, Cobden – Thursday, June 27 from 6-8pm;

  • Theatre Royal, Camperdown – Wednesday, July 3 from 12-2pm;

  • Beleaf Gardens ‘n’ Gifts, Lismore – Thursday, July 4 from 10am-12pm;

  • The Shed, Noorat – Monday, July 8 from 8.30-10.30am;

  • Elephant Bridge Hotel, Darlington– Wednesday, July 10 from 4-6pm

  • Simpson Football Netball Club – Thursday, July 11 from 5-7pm;

  • Clean Cravings Eatery, Princetown – Wednesday, July 24 from 11am-1pm; and
