New rails for Mount Leura
THE winding bends of Mount Leura Road have become safer thanks to recent works on the mountain.
Increased safety: Works were completed on Mount Leura last month, adding more railing to Mount Leura Road.
Corangamite Shire Council director works and services Shaun Broadbent said council installed one kilometre of new guard railing along the road in April.
“The addition of the guardrails will make it safer for both pedestrians and vehicles to use,” he said.

“The project was fully funded by the Transport Accident Commission’s (TAC) Safer Local Roads and Streets program.”
The road was closed between April 13 and April 15 for the works.
