New toilets an asset for hall
THE Scotts and Cowleys Creek Hall has received a new lease on life with a significant upgrade at the hall.

THE Scotts and Cowleys Creek Hall has received a new lease on life with a significant upgrade at the hall.
The hall committee have been busy organising upgrades to the ladies and mens toilets, as well as installing a unisex disabled toilet.
Committee treasurer Neville Robb said the upgrades cost about $36,000 as well as in-kind labour to help paint the new look spaces.
“We’re pleased with how they come up,” he said.
“We just wanted to update the facilities; if we don’t they will get too far behind and we won’t be able to catch up.
“We’re very grateful to the people who have helped us on the way with funds which includes Corangamite Shire, Timboon Opportunity Shop, Gardiner Foundation, Beach Energy and Lochard Energy.”
Mr Robb said the committee hopes the new upgrades will see an increase in use of the hall throughout the year.
He said the space was currently used between 40-50 times a year.
“The next project will the kitchen which hasn’t been updated before,” Mr Robb said.
“At this stage we haven’t got the funds.”
The committee will host a general meeting next week, with people interested in joining asked to contact Neville Robb on 0474 983 637.
“We have 10 members at the moment, but we’re looking for more new blood as there are some members moving on,” Mr Robb said.
“Hopefully we continue with the work the current committee have started.”
