Frustrating lack of action: Months later there is still no sign of works at a section of the Coben-Warrnambool Road at Glenfyne which is just 60kmp/h.

The section of road stretches more than a kilometre and, despite being a major road in the district, did not receive funding in last week’s announced road blitz.

Department of Transport and Planning executive director Barwon South West and Grampians Michael Bailey said the road was being inspected regularly.

“While we plan the required repairs for this section of Cobden-Warrnambool Road, our crews will continue to regularly inspect the roads and monitor the effectiveness of the reduced speed limit and additional warning signage in place,” he said.

“We’re investing nearly a billion dollars this year – the largest single-year investment in Victoria’s history – to rebuild and repair the roads that Victorians depend on every single day, with 70 per cent of that funding going to regional Victoria.”

Road users and the community are encouraged to report any concerns about the road network by calling 13 11 70.
