AN unusual thing happened at Corangamite volleyball during round seven when NOBTS scored a convincing 2-1 win over top team Poachers, yet tumbled to fourth on the ladder.

So small is the gap between second and fourth that double wins by Stallions and Bulls took them past NOBTS – who were one of Bulls’ victims in a later match.

With two rounds and four matches to play before finals, it will be interesting to see who finishes in the positions behind Poachers, who look to have the minor premiership wrapped up.

Slugs’ winning streak came to an abrupt halt when they ran into a couple of tough opponents and Ballbusters didn’t find it any easier.

They have well and truly claimed the two bottom spots on the ladder.

Results from round seven:

Stallions def Slugs 3-0, Stallions def Ballbusters 2-0, Bulls def NOBTS 2-1, Bulls def Ballbusters 3-0 and Poachers def Slugs 4-0.

Ladder after November 14:

Poachers 46, Stallions 32, Bulls 32, NOBTS 30, Ballbusters 12, Slugs 8.
