Nominations open for farm leadership
THE next cohort of Victorian farming leaders are encouraged to nominate for a number of roles, including Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF) president and vice president, as part of the 2026 VFF elections.
The VFF is seeking nominations for both president and vice present roles, while the VFF United Dairyfarmers of Victoria (VFF UDV) is seeking a vice president and councillors in regions one through nine.
VFF chief executive officer and returning officer Charlie Thomas encouraged those interested to nominate and represent the Victorian agriculture industry during a crucial upcoming period.
“It’s an exciting time to be part of the VFF – our membership is growing, we’re focused on serving members and we’re delivering tangible outcomes,” he said.
“With a state election looming and critical issues on the table, we need leaders who are ready to drive us forward.
“If you’re passionate about keeping our industry productive, sustainable and globally competitive, I encourage you to throw your hat in the ring.
“To nominate and subsequently vote, you must be a VFF financial member and have full voting rights.
“Please double check you’re eligible or contact the VFF team to ensure you can have your say.”
Nominations are now open and will close at 5pm on Tuesday, March 31.
An election will be announced should a role receive more than one nomination.
Regardless of whether an election is held or not, the successful candidates will be announced at the upcoming 2026 VFF conference in Ballarat on Tuesday, June 2.
The current VFF president and vice president, and VFF UDV vice president, are eligible to nominate again for their respective roles as their terms have not reached the maximum four-year limit.
