One-point loss ends season

THE SEASON is over for Lismore/Derrinallum's B grade netballers after a 36-35 loss to Great Western in Sunday’s elimination final at Penshurst.

Isobel McLinden and Abbey Burford were best for the B grade Demons in the loss, with Stella Horspole scoring 22 goals.

In the 18 and under qualifying final at Great Western on Saturday, Lismore/Derrinallum had a 31-27 loss to Penshurst.

Stella Horspole scored 19 goals and was best for the Demons along with Jess Miller, while Holly Bond also scored eight goals.

The under 18 Demons will play Tatyoon in this week’s first semi final at Lismore.

The season is also over for Lismore/Derrinallum’s under 16.5 footballers after a 10.16.76 to 0.3.3 elimination final loss to Tatyoon at Great Western on Saturday.

Campbell Greig, Laine Scott, Jackson Lyddy, Jack Fay, Jackson Davies and Emmett Henderson were the Demons best.

It’s a big day ahead tomorrow (Saturday) with Lismore/Derrinallum’s senior and reserves football teams lining up in second semi final matches at Willaura.

Both teams are fresh from a week off after finishing on top of their respective ladders.

The Demons seniors play the Ararat Eagles in a mouth-watering contest, the Eagles winning the only clash between the two clubs this year by 10 points back in round 10.

The Demons reserves also play Ararat, with Lismore/Derrinallum winning the round 10 contest by just three points.
