Open day well attended
THE Rodney Grove Aquatic Centre recently held a free open day to encourage residents from across the shire to come learn more about the facility.

The open day, held on Wednesday, October 29, offered a free water aerobics class, gym class demonstrations, interactive learning zones and a morning tea.
The day was held with the support of a new committee known as the Friends of Rodney Grove Pool and Gym (FORG).
The committee was formed following a reduction in pool hours due to funding shortfalls earlier this year, with the community rallying together to help find a solution to save the pool.
The aim of the committee will be promoting the centre and boosting membership, which is used by patrons from across the region as the pool is the only indoor heated pool between Warrnambool and Colac.
The committee were the driving force behind the day and welcomed all who attended.
Committee member Lesley Brown said the open day included lots of information provided about the facilities and classes.
“The newly formed committee with Cobdenhealth held our first open morning with an introductory water aerobics class run by Carole Manifold, tours of the centre and morning tea,” she said.
“There were two new memberships with another who will join after Christmas when they relocate to the area.
“We had lots of enquiries about our regular classes and everyone was very impressed with the facilities and how lucky we are to have this in our community.
“We were pleased with the response on the day and thank you to the volunteers who helped.
“We will continue to promote the pool and thanks to everyone for assisting to make the day happen – we look forward to more days in the future.”
