Open for business

CORANGAMITE Shire’s entrepreneurial visionaries have been called on to assist with efforts securing the area’s future prosperity.

Expressions of interest are now open for business-minded individuals to join the Corangamite Enterprise Group.

The aim of the group is to assist council to achieve its vision for Corangamite as a thriving community which is both economically and socially vibrant.

Corangamite Shire’s chief executive officer David Rae has invited industry representatives from key business sectors in the shire to submit expressions of interest.

“They will support economic development across the shire and assist council to identify the needs, priorities, and opportunities for the Corangamite business community,” he said.

“Members will bring business experience and skills, relevant network connections, innovative thinking, enthusiasm and passion for Corangamite’s future prosperity.”

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provision of strategic input and advice on the delivery of economic development related Council Plan goals and actions, development initiatives, programs and priorities, emerging economic development issues for the shire, and the impact of state and Commonwealth economic development policy;

  • Receive reports and provide feedback on relevant council policies, strategies and activities as they relate to economic development; and

  • Assist in identifying expansion opportunities for local and new businesses.

The group will meet at least twice per year but no more than four times per year.
