Out and About set to launch

FOCUSING on all four priority areas of Corangamite Shire Council’s new Positive Ageing, Accessibility and Inclusion Plan, the Positive Ageing, Accessibility and Inclusion team has launched a new initiative called Explore and Talk - now part of the Out and About program.

A council spokesperson said the activity encourages residents to connect with others in the community while enjoying self-paced, light exercise followed by a cup of tea or coffee at a local café.

“Over the coming months, the team will meet participants at well-known local landmarks across the shire before leading them on a designated walking route, offering opportunities to learn about the area and its history along the way,” the spokesperson said.

“The walks are open to everyone and are designed to strengthen community connections by blending gentle physical activity with relaxed social engagement.”

The first walk will be held on Wednesday, February 11, with residents encouraged to meet at the clocktower in Camperdown.

Residents are asked to meet at the starting points by 10am.
