Overfill suspected in diesel spill
FUEL service at Camperdown BP was temporarily suspended after a diesel leak left some diesel flowing down Manifold Street on Monday.

FUEL service at Camperdown BP was temporarily suspended after a diesel leak left some diesel flowing down Manifold Street on Monday.
CFA were called to the spill as the service station activated fuel spill procedures, with the CFA applying sand to absorb the spilt diesel.
It is believed that a driver overfilled their tank before driving off, leaving diesel going around 50 to 60 metres down the street.
District Six acting assistant chief Daniel Condon said 60 litres of diesel was spilled in the incident, with some believed to have gone down drains.
He warned drivers to make sure they concentrate when filling up to avoid overfilling their cars.
“If it does happen, alert the authorities immediately; don’t drive off,” Mr Condon said.
“Alert the service station so they can enact their spill procedures and respond to the appropriate authorities.”
