Pelicans in-form
A STRONG performance with bat and ball saw Bookaar hand ladder leader Pomborneit its second loss of the season last weekend.
Chasing Pomborneit’s 6/268, the third-placed Pelicans made 8/270 in the 48th over on Saturday.
Openers Eddie Lucas and Simon Baker were in-form and proved major contributors on the scoreboard.
Lucas smashed his way to 70 from 70 deliveries in an innings that included eight boundaries.
Baker reached 88 from 87 balls, including 10 boundaries, before being caught.
Other contributors were lower order batsman Michael Winzar who was unbeaten on 19 and Tim Fitzgerald who added 18.
Wicket takers for Bookaar included Charlie Lucas 2/36 off 10 and Tim Fitzgerald 2/35 off 10.
