Perfect weather for golf
IN perfect weather conditions, ladies enjoyed a stroke/putting round at the Timboon Golf Club last Wednesday.
Alison Walsh was the winner of the day with 99-25-74 followed by Vera Convey on 95-20-75.
Balls down the line went to Nelle Cashmore 92-16-76.
Maureen Clements had the lowest number of putts with just 25 putts.
Nearest the pin: second shot on the 5th was Judy Walsh and the 13th went to Biddy Weel.
Ladies enjoyed the Doris Chambers Foursomes event on Wednesday, May 1.
The event was won by Sophie Bowker and Linda McKenzie on 33 points, with Michelle Gristede and Vera Convey runners-up on 33.
Balls down the line: Lynne Newton and Judy Delaney on 30 points.
Nearest the pin: 7th Judy Delaney, 10th Judy Walsh.
Last Saturday 27 members played a stroke round.
A grade was won by Bill Finlayson with nett 70, second went to Wes Hocking on 72 while Chris Harkness and Matthew Walker both finished on 74.
B grade was won by Gavin Rundle with nett 66. The runner-up was Todd Brunt with 73, from Bryan Ward and Barry Cook both on 74.
Donna Weller had the best ladies score with nett 78.
Nearest the pins: 5th Peter Plozza, 7th Gavin Rundle, 10th Rodney Edge and 14th Kevin Plozza.
The South West Car Care ball on the 13th was won by Barry Cook.
Thursday’s 12-hole Railway View Hotel chicken day was won by Peter Plozza with 25 points on a countback from Greg Beames.
Nearest the pin was Steve Plozza.
This Saturday will be stableford.
