Performers wanted for Light Up festival

THE third annual Light Up Camperdown Event is just around the corner and Corangamite Shire Council is looking for young performers to take the stage.

Mayor councillor Kate Makin said council is encouraging local youth talent to complete an expression of interest to take to the main stage as part of this festival.

“This is your chance to showcase your musical talent and is a paid opportunity for performers from across the shire aged 12 to 25,” she said.

Corangamite Shire solo artists, bands, duos and ensembles of all music genres are welcome as long as they are available for soundcheck and for the event.

Cr Makin described the event as “a fantastic opportunity to showcase and inspire young up-and-coming local talent.”

“This will be a great addition to the night, with young performers alongside Bethany’s Christmas show and Tuniversal,” she said.

“This free community event features roving entertainers, projections, a lantern parade and much more.

“Fantastic for kicking off the festive season.”

The Light up Camperdown Event is returning on Friday, December 5.

Performing at the event will be a paid opportunity, with performances to run from 4.30-5.30pm.

This is a fully supervised event and is drug, alcohol and smoking free.

The event is supported by a Victorian Government initiative

Expressions of Interest are open now and can be completed online at corangamite.vic.gov.au/LightUpYouthStage2025.
