Peter beats walking and fundraising goals
CAMPERDOWN resident Peter James has taken on a fitness challenge for charity, managing to pass both his kilometre and fundraising goals.

Mr James took part in the March Charge, a month-long fitness challenge through Cancer Council to raise funds for cancer research.
He had initially set a fundraising goal of $1000, managing to raise $1033.
“I was rattling tins in town,” Mr James said,
“I’m very happy, and it’s gone to a very worthy cause.”
The total marks him as a diamond charger, who are March Charge participants who pass $1000 in fundraising.
Mr James’ target distance was also beaten, with his target of 250 kilometres beaten by almost 100.
He said he was pleased he beat his goal but is keen to rest after walking 347 kilometres.
“Every time I do these fundraisers, I seem to push myself further than I should,” he said.
“I’m very thankful to the staff at Benallack’s and another lovely lady who helped me with collecting money.
“There’ll be some other fundraiser come up and knowing me I’ll fundraise again.”
