Peter to pound pavement
A CAMPERDOWN resident will be lacing up his walking shoes next month to take on a special walk for a good cause.

Peter James will be walking around Camperdown throughout March as part of the Cancer Council’s March Charge campaign.
March Charge is an annual fundraiser for the Cancer Council where people can sign up to walk or run a set number of kilometres from March 1 to March 31.
Mr James said participating in the challenge, with this year being his second year, brings back memories for him.
“It’s still for my daughter, who had cancer many years ago, but since then I had a lot of close friends in the bowls club I play for and in the general community who have had cancer,” he said.
“Sadly, some have lost their lives because of it.
“I’m always there to help everyone, and I love walking.
“I’m always out walking so I thought I’d challenge myself again.
“It’s just what I love doing.”
Mr James has set himself the challenge of walking 250 kilometres over the month, with his fundraising goal set at $1000.
“My website says $1000, but if I can get to $1500 that would be even better, and it all goes to cancer research,” he said.
“Another bowling colleague of mine will be walking.
“She’s just hoping to break 100km and she’ll come out walking with me with her dog on most days.
“Please support me as much as you can.”
At time of publication, Mr James has raised $139 for the cause.
