Pigeons race from Mildura
CAMPERDOWN Homing Pigeon Club birds raced from Mildura last Saturday.
CAMPERDOWN Homing Pigeon Club birds raced from Mildura last Saturday.
This special event, titled the John Ellis Memorial Award, was won by Rex Perkins.
His pigeon clocked in after eight hours, 12 minutes and 20 seconds.
Results were as follows: 1st Rex Perkins (velocity 941.78 m/mins) and 2nd G. and S. McKenzie (velocity 901.23 m/mins).
This week there will be a short distance race from Maroona 20 kilometres south of Ararat.
Basketing will take place on Friday at 5pm.
