Pinehurst at Terang

LAST Thursday’s all-day mixed Pinehurst competition attracted 13 teams to the Terang Golf Club.


While the weather conditions proved difficult they did not deter the winners, Linda Kenna and Fred Beasley, who finished with an excellent score of nett 70.5.

The runners-up were Frank and Wendy O’Connor on 72.375.

Balls down the line went to Colin and Marion Venn nett 74.375 and Ged and Glennice Justin 75.25.

Nearest the pins: 3rd Marion Venn, 6th Michael O’Connor, 11th Bernie Kenna and 18th from off the green, Elaine Hrabar.

The winners of the Don Bristol Memorial trophy were Linda Kenna and Fred Beasley.

This Thursday will be the women’s 9.30am-10.30am competition along with the 18 and nine hole all-day stablefords.

Last Saturday’s stableford competition attracted a field of 30 players.

A grade was won by Nick Kenna (10) 39 points from Tim Keane (12) 38.

B grade went to Hugh Kenna (18) 41 from runner-up Cate Glennon (15) 40.

Balls down the line went to Toni Harrison (36) 38, Angelo van den Heuvel (16) 37, Liam Venn (7) 36 and Shaun Maxfield (23) 35.

Nearest the pins – 3rd Kerrie Cakebread and 11th Marion Venn.

Friday night’s nine-hole twilight was won by Stephen Grinter on 22 points, followed by Kerry Clarke on 16.

This Friday will be the final night of twilight nine-hole golf for the season.

The event will run from 2.30pm onwards (composite holes 1, 9, 15, 16, 17, 18, 10, 11 and 7).

Saturday will be stroke April monthly medal, putting and Easer bunnies for the winners.

Sunday will be stableford.
