Player unavailability proves costly
ROUND five results of Terang Table Tennis saw some impact from player unavailability, as several of the ‘number twos’ were unable to play.
The biggest upset was The Unknowns’ Peter Mania defeating Total Tools’ Tyler Smith in five very close matches 8-11, 11-9, 11-8, 8-11, 11-7.
This win helped propel The Unknowns to a 4-1 victory.
Peter won both his singles and combined with sub Pat Nicholson, who won a singles, to win the doubles.
Tyler won one singles for Total Tools.
Snapper@Crofts defeated Rob Markable 3-2, with Vesha Chapagai and Paul Healey winning a singles each and combining to win the doubles.
Mark Smith won his singles for the losing side.
Lefties defeated Nelson 3-2.
The highlight of this match was Leanne McDowell winning a game against husband Trevor.
Leanne and teammate Ian Rochfort won a singles each and combined to win the doubles.
Trevor maintained his unbeaten singles run, winning both singles.
