Plozza and Barlow win Ethnic Cup

TIMOON Golf Club members played a four ball best ball stableford event last Saturday.

The day marked round two of the Ethnic Cup and was won by

Gary Castledine (16) and Finn Castledine (14) on 44 points.

Second place went to Bill Finlayson (14) and Steve Plozza (11) 44 points while Kevin Plozza (10) and Todd Brunt (16) were third on 41 points.

Mick Plozza (16) and Ivan Barlow (28) finished fourth on 40 points.

After the second and final round, Mick Plozza and Ivan Barlow (86 points) were declared the winners.

Second place overall went to Bill Finlayson and Steve Plozza, with Rodney Edge and Percy Gillin third.

Nearest the pins: 5th Tori Ziegelaar and 7th Gary Castledine.

Steve Plozza won the ball for his second shot to the 11th and Mick Smith for his second to the 13th.

On Thursday, the 12-hole Kazza’s Railway View chicken day was won by John Whitehead with 27 points from Rohan Johns with 26.

Nearest the pin was David Gamble.

This Saturday, February 22, will be stroke for monthly medals.

Last Wednesday, February 12, ladies enjoyed round two of the monthly medal (qualifying for the Newton Cup – stroke/putting).

The winner on the day was Heather Finlayson with 91/67 nett, followed by June Ayres 100/70 nett.

Balls down the line went to Nellie Cashmore 88/73 nett.

Nearest the pins: first shot on the 5th June Ayres, second shot on the 19th Donna Weller, Nutrien ball Susanne Wallace.
