Eight secondary students travelled to Ballarat for the event last Thursday, showing plenty of enthusiasm both on and off the track.

Tyler Kavanagh, Caleb Bamford, Sema Meric, Millie Castersen, Riley Fleming, Tayte McMaster, Courtney Stonehouse and Daniel Stonehouse gave their all throughout the day, resulting in some strong performances.

Year 12 students Riley and Sema ended their GWR careers on a high with Riley placing third in both the 800m and 1500m events, while Sema finished third in discus and won the shotput.

Sema Meric won gold in the shotput and will now head to the state athletics championships next month.
