Police disappointed by drunk drivers
POLICE have been disappointed after intercepting two drunk drivers in one night.
Camperdown Police Acting Senior Sergeant Andrew Raven said police intercepted two drivers on Saturday, March 21, including a 19-year-old Boorcan man.
“He exceeded the prescribed concentration of alcohol – above 0.05,” he said.
“He was a P-plater and has lost his licence for six months.
“He received a penalty notice.
“Also on Saturday night, a Camperdown man in his 30s was intercepted by police.
“He was an unlicensed driver with an unregistered vehicle and was drink driving.”
Fully licenced drivers have a legal breath alcohol concentration limit of 0.05, while learner drivers, p-plate drivers and supervising drivers have a legal limit of zero.
Act Snr Sgt Raven said police would continue to breath test drivers.
“If you are going to be driving, don’t drink, because we will be out in force,” he said.
“If you are exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol, you will lose your licence and, in some cases, you’ll have your car impounded.”
