Police investigate fatality near Cobden

A TRUCK driver has died in a single vehicle accident on the Cobden-Stonyford Road on Tuesday morning.

A TRUCK driver has died in a single vehicle accident on the Cobden-Stonyford Road on Tuesday morning.

The accident was believed to have occurred about 8.10am, according to Warrnambool Highway Patrol’s Tim Brosowsky.

“At this point there’s no other vehicle (believed to be) involved,” he said.

“The male driver is deceased.”

Senior Constable Brosowsky said the exact circumstances surrounding the crash were yet to be determined and an investigation was ongoing.

“We’re calling for any witnesses to the accident to contact police,” he said.

“The driver was travelling westbound towards Cobden.”

Emergency services attended the scene including Police, Ambulance, CFA and SES.

The road was expected to be closed to motorists for most of the day.
