Police investigating device from Bullen Merri
CAMPERDOWN Police are investigating the circumstances behind the appearance of a suspicious object that was reported last Sunday.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said police conducted a safety check on an item suspected to be an unexploded explosive device on Sunday, June 16.
“Officers were called to reports an item had been found near Lake Bullen Merri on Sadlers Road about 4pm,” the spokesperson said.
“The Bomb Response Unit later attended the scene and the surrounding area was cordoned off as a precaution.
“The area has been deemed safe and the device was removed for assessment.
“Camperdown Police will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
